I will be holding art enrichment classes this school year. They will occur several times throughout the year. I will post info here on this site when I will be holding a class. To help with planning, classes will be held from 3:30-5 pm, unless otherwise noted.  The classes that were held last year are listed at the very bottom of this page, if you would like to get an idea of some of the things we do.

Announcing a Family Art Enrichment…

This art enrichment is special. It is being held on Saturday, Feb 3, and is open to both STS students AND THEIR FAMILIES.  Students must be in at least 1st grade to participate. Parents/Guardians and Grandparents are welcome.

Time: Feb 3… 9 am-12:15-ish? 

Cost: 45.00/person

What you will make: ( each person will get these items. )

(4) ceramic tiles (4”x4”) to paint with glass paint and add felt to the  bottom. They can be used as drink coasters.

(1) 4’x8” plank of wood to create a Valentine’s themed” Porch Leaner”. We will paint candy hearts that spell LOVE. You are more than welcome to paint more hearts and spell out a different word or your last name. 

A container of modeling chocolate that you will use to sculpt some edible  roses.  Again, you may choose to sculpt other things as well. 

A break mid way through the time, where hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Nov Art Enrichment… NEW!!!!!!!!

What: Wood Burning

When: Nov 29 and 30, 3:30-5 pm

Who: Grades 6-8th ONLY

Cost: 55.00

Registration is due by: Nov 17,23

This class is limited to middle school students only, due to the use of wood burners. 

The students will be shown how to create a design, transfer it onto a piece of wood, and how to safely use a wood burner. The students will learn how to dilute acrylic paints to create a stain and color their design.

When registering, students will choose if they would like to do (4) 4.5-5” wooden disks, or (1) 13x11x2.5” wooden board.

Students may choose to do a winter themed scene ( barn, snowman, deer, evergreen tree) or their own original drawing/drawings. 

If choosing to do original drawings, please have your child bring their drawing to me, so I can photocopy it to get it to the proper size for the project they choose. 

Some examples of wood burning projects that I pulled from the internet are below. The students will be creating their own unique artwork, but this gives you an idea of what woodburning with paint looks like.

Announcing this year’s first art enrichment… paint a spooky Halloween board!

When:Thursday, Oct 12… time:3:30-5:15pm. Snack will be provided.

Details… students will paint a 4’x8” board that can be used as a “porch leaner” for fall. It will have a black cat ( or whatever color they choose to paint it), standing on a jack-o-lantern, with a full moon above.

Special Mother’s Day Art Enrichment:

May 20, 10-12 pm   Registration due Friday, May 6th. 

“Porch Leaner” Welcome sign

Cost: 100.00 per pair.

This is a special Saturday Art Enrichment for any STS student in grades 1-8th, and their Mom or “Mom figure” ( yes, this is also open to grandmothers).

Both Mom and Child will make a “Porch Leaner”  wooden welcome sign. Each sign will be 8”x4’. 

Mom’s will paint a board that has several big flowers in the background, and your choice of the word “Welcome” , “Home”, or “Summer” stenciled on it. 

Kids will paint a sign with either paw prints, ice cream cones, or flowers in the background, and the word “Hi” or “Hello” stenciled on it. 

*** Moms are more than welcome to swap their flower design for paw prints or ice cream cones. ***

Snacks will be provided midway through the class.

Clay art enrichment class

Who:1st-8th grades

When: Wed, March 22, Thursday, March 23, and Wed, March 29,2023   3:30-5 pm

Cost: 75.00

Registration deadline is March 10th.

This is a 3 day class.The 1st two days will be spent creating. The last day will be spent painting what the kids made the week before. 

 Students will be given 3 lbs of clay. They will do 3 projects, while learning several clay techniques. 

The 1st project will teach forming and joining coils and how to form them into a cup/vase. 

The 2nd project will teach the students how to roll a slab, add texture and their name, to create a 3-d name plate.

The 3rd project will be a “free project”. The students will be able to create a sculpture of their choosing, with guidance from the teacher. 

*** clay used is air dry, so all projects made will be strictly decorative and won’t be able to function as a waterproof cup or vase. ***

Kindergarten Art Enrichment: *** this is a 2 day class***

Cost: 50.00

March 9 and March 16, 3:30-5 pm

Registration is due Feb 23. 

This class is specifically designed for STS’s kindergarten students. The first class will be devoted to  learning  basic clay techniques, including making a pinch pot, rolling coils and spheres, joining pieces, and smoothing. The kids will make 3 projects on the first day: a pinch pot bird nest with a simple bird, a tile with a 3-d initial, and a “free choice” project. 

The second class will be used to paint the projects, using acrylic paint. If time permits, children will be given tempera paint and paper to further their painting experience. 

A snack will be provided at the beginning of class.

Announcing Saint Theresa’s 1st ever “Me and My ……” paint event! 

This class is for a child of STS and 1 adult. The adult can be a Parent, Grandparent, Guardian, and etc…

Both Child and Adult will paint a winter scene, on an 11x14" canvas. 

The child will paint the snowman side. 

The adult will paint the hot chocolate side. 

When completed, the paintings will be able to be hung together to create a larger one.

This will be a 2 ½  hour class, with a 15 minute break for hot chocolate and cookies.

Cost is 70.00/ pair. 

Date is Saturday, Feb 11, from 10am -12:30

 I will hold another class that afternoon, from 2-4:30 pm.

This is an EXTREMELY limited class.

This will be a 3 hour Saturday class. The session on Dec 10 is for 1st-8th grade. The session on Dec 17th is for kindergarten. 

Your child will have the opportunity to make 10 Christmas themed art projects, that they may  keep or give as gifts. 

The projects are listed below, with a description and a photo example. Please keep in mind the photos are just to give you an idea of what the project is, and the kids will be doing their own designs. 

Payment will be done online through the tuition billing program. After I receive your registration via email, Chrishelle will bill your account for the 70.00. Please send the requested info below to my email address.

Fun with Mosaics!                            Nov 9th and10 th, 3:30-5 pm    *** snack will be provided***

Open to grades 2nd-8th.

Registration deadline is no later than Oct 25. I need to order the masonite shapes and want to allow enough time for them to get here. *** Registration and payment process is different this year. Please see bottom for details. ***

This will be a 2 day class.  The kids will choose which 12” masonite base they would like to work with. They will use all purpose glue to adhere the mosaic pieces on the first day. The second day will be spent grouting their creation.  

Students will choose from a cross,  a butterfly , a paw print or a sea turtle.

2021/22 Art Enrichment:

Announcing a special art enrichment session for December… Christmas gift making class! There will be 2 different sessions, one will be for kindergarten and 1st grade students, and one will be for 2nd-8th grade students.  Class size will be extremely limited… please fill out registration form and email it to Mrs. Haller to reserve your spot. 

The class will be a 3 hour class, with a snack provided. 

Dec 11, 9 am-12 noon  .... 2nd -8th grade

Dec 18, 9 am-12 noon... kindergarten and 1st grade

Cost is 55.00 ( this cost includes cost of materials, as well as my time spent shopping for items for the class, set up before class, class, and clean up after class)

Children will make several gifts that they will be able to give to loved ones for Christmas. 

Students will leave the class with the following:

-(2) painted mugs ( these will need to be cured at home, and directions will be sent as to how to do it)

-(1) 3’ wooden painted  board  (christmas related)

-(2) necklaces made from a double layer of metal washers and decorated with alcohol inks ( these are really beautiful and unique. They sell on Etsy for anywhere from 10-20.00!)

-(2) photo decoupage mason jars with candles*** Parents will need to provide a photo, via email. 1 week before the class***

Art Enrichment is back!!! Our 2nd session will be Paint Pouring.  Due to Covid, I am limiting the number of participants to 10. The class is open for students in grades 1-8. 

For those of you new  to art enrichment classes, they run after school, from 3:30-5 pm. The classes will be held on wednesdays. The students will go to the gym with the after school students and sit on the bleachers as they eat a snack that I will provide. I will pick them up at 3:30 and take them to the gym. 

Paint Pouring: Cost is 35.00. Cash ( or check payable to STS)
Wednesday, Nov 17, 2021, and  Dec 1, 2021. 3:30-5 pm.   Please note, this is a 1 day class. Please specify which day you would like to attend, when you fill out your registration. This is a more pricy class, due to the number of canvases the students will get, the amount of paint they will use, and the materials needed to support/raise the canvases up from the table when pouring the paint. *** fill out the form and please submit to me via email. This is first come, first serve and I will use the  email timestamp to determine who the first 10 students are that register***. 

The form can be found on my teacher page, under "Art enrichment registration form. " *** if you have already participated in an art enrichment class this year, you do not need to fill out contact info. Just info on student's name and color choices. 

We will be doing a paint pour class. this is a new Art style, where you mix paint with a pouring medium, and pour it onto the canvas, one color directly on top of another, and then tilt the canvas to make the paint move and swirl.

Students will be given (5)  8x10 canvases. They will also receive (1) 11x16 canvas.  They will be given 4 colors of paint, as well as white and black.  Students will be taught 5 different paint pour techniques : Dirty pour, striping, swipe, blowing, and strainer. They will do each technique on the smaller canvas as practice. They will then choose which technique/techniques they like and use those on their larger canvas.  Students may bring in an old hair dryer, to help move the paint, if they wish. *** please be aware that the hairdryer may come home with a little paint on it.. we will try our best to keep it clean. 

Please have your child bring old clothes with them to school that day. They will be able to change their clothes after school, and  before class starts at 3:30.
